Bergen County Prosecutor John L. Molinelli announced the arrest of ANDREW BROWN, 1606 Central Avenue, South Plainfield, New Jersey. BROWN was arrested on charges of Attempt to Endanger the Welfare of a Child (2 counts) and Attempted Criminal Sexual Contact. BROWN was arrested on November 22, 2011, without incident.​

The arrest came about as a result of an investigation conducted by members of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Computer Crimes Unit under the direction of Chief Steven CUCCINIELLO.​

The arrest stemmed from an investigation in which BROWN used the Internet to engage in sexually explicit conversations with an individual that he believed to be 14 years old. During these conversations, he exposed himself via webcam in view of the purported child.​

Prosecutor Molinelli states that the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. Prosecutor Molinelli would like to thank the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office and the South Plainfield Police Department for their assistance. Prosecutor Molinelli would also like to thank the Maywood and Oradell Police Departments for providing additional support in the form of Computer Crimes Task Force personnel.​
