    Hundreds of texts between a teacher and one of her students has led to both criminal and administrative investigations. Alexa Nasonti, 25, a first-year art teacher with the Norwalk City Schools, was put on paid administrative leave Monday pending further investigation. Nasonti and a 17-year-old Norwalk High School male student were found together in a vehicle about 9 p.m. April 2 at Lion’s Park in Castalia.

    A Norwalk teacher has been placed on paid administrative leave pending investigations into the nature of a relationship with one of her students. Earlier this month, Castalia police found Alexa Nasonti, 25, seated in the front passenger seat of a vehicle belonging to a 17-year-old male student. He was sitting in the driver's seat when police found them together in the vehicle at about 9 p.m. April 2 at Lion's Park in the village. They told police they were talking about the boy's ex-girlfriend and "nothing was going on."

    Alexa Nasonti, 25, a first-year art teacher with the Norwalk City Schools, was put on paid administrative leave Monday pending further investigation. The investigation is now being handled by the Erie County Sheriff's Office ... Authorities obtained a warrant seeking text messages between Nasonti and the boy from March 27 through the present. Late Friday, Castalia police received the requested cell phone and text messages from the teacher's and student's phone companies. After making copies for the department, police forwarded the messages to the sheriff's office on Monday. "There is an indication of criminal activity," said Erie County Sheriff's Detective Lt. Jared Oliver, who has reviewed the phone records. "We'll have to investigate the matter and go from there. There is an indication of sexual activity."

    A Norwalk High School teacher who was found alone in a parked car with a 17-year-old male student has been suspended, according to Norwalk Schools Superintendent Dennis Doughty ... Castalia police launched an investigation after the teacher and the student were found in a car parked in a lot by the baseball diamonds near the board offices of the Margaretta School District on April 2. Police Chief Ken Majoy has said officers found the two during routine patrol. Nasonti and the boy were sitting in a car talking. Another car was parked next to the car they were in, according to police.

    During the investigation by Erie Counties Sheriff office, some of the main incidents occurred in Sandusky County including when the 17-year-old student and teacher met at the Lions Park in Castalia. Phone records show conversations and extensive text messages of over a hundred sent between Alexa Nasonti and the 17-year-old student.

    The Erie County Sheriff’s Office is continuing to investigate a Norwalk High School teacher for her relationship with a 17-year-old male student. Deputies are combing through hundreds of text messages and other documentation between the two, according to Capt. Paul Sigsworth. Sigsworth said while no criminal charges have been brought against the teacher, Alexa Nasonti, 25, the content of the text messages indicated sexual activity, though Sigsworth would not elaborate. “The content of those text messages certainly warrants a criminal investigation,” he said.

    A detective is recommending prosecutors file a felony charge against a Norwalk City Schools art teacher who is accused of engaging in sexual conduct with a male student ... Lt. Jared Oliver has reviewed all of the hundreds of text messages between Nasonti and a 17-year-old Norwalk High School male student. Two Castalia police officers, doing routine patrol of Lion’s Park in Margaretta Township about 9 p.m. April 2, found the pair seated in a Ford Escape together. There was another vehicle there as well. On Thursday, Oliver took his report to the Erie County Prosecutor’s Office for the recommendation of filing a sexual battery charge against Nasonti.

    Sandusky Register: Norwalk teacher's sexual misconduct case to go to Sandusky County (Apr 20 2012)

    Sandusky County prosecutors will decide how to handle a case against a Norwalk teacher accused of sexual conduct with one of her students. “It appears from the initial investigation that any illegal sexual conduct may have occurred in Sandusky County,” Capt. Paul Sigsworth said Thursday.

    Sandusky Register: Norwalk teacher's case could go before grand jury in May (Apr 25)

    Sandusky County prosecutor Thomas Stierwalt has asked one of his investigators to review a case involving a Norwalk High teacher accused of engaging in sexual conduct with a student. The investigator’s findings should ultimately determine if a grand jury will consider felony charges against Alexa Nasonti, 25. Stierwalt hasn’t decided yet if the grand jury should hear the case.

    Sandusky County Prosecutor Thomas Stierwalt says his office is currently reviewing fact involving the 25-year old Norwalk Teacher and the relationship between her and a 17-year old Student. Prosecutor Stierwalt says the investigation could go to Grand Jury no earlier than May 15.

Common Pleas Judge John Dewey released her with the condition she have no contact with the victim.

    A former Norwalk High School teacher pleaded not guilty to one count of sexual battery in Sandusky County Court of Common Pleas, according to court records. Alexa Nasonti, 25, of Castalia, was arraigned on June 14 by Judge John Dewey. She was released from jail on a personal recognizance bond under the conditions that she does not leave Ohio, does not have contact with alleged victim, cannot change residence, cannot possess weapons, cannot possess drugs, must be law abiding and must keep in contact with attorney, according to a court document. She also signed a waiver of extradition.
