    KHSD Spanish teacher still teaching after alleged assault

    A Centennial High Spanish teacher arrested Sept. 13 on suspicion of assaulting another man will remain in the classroom for now, according to the Kern High School District. Bakersfield police Sgt. Joe Grubbs said the teacher, Alberto Diaz-Conti, allegedly punched a man and broke a bone under his eye after the two got into a verbal altercation at the home of Diaz-Conti's ex-girlfriend ... Police initially arrested him on a felony charge of battery with serious bodily injury, but Kern County Superior Court reduced the charge to a misdemeanor, Grubbs said.
