Paterson teacher accused of affair with student, prosecutor says Police have arrested a teacher at East Side High School in Paterson accused of having a sexual affair with one of his students, acting Essex County Prosecutor Carolyn Murray announced today. Abelardo Romero, 28, of Montclair turned himself in to the township police department last night, authorities said. He is accused of having a sexual relationship with one of his 17-year-old students, Murray said.
