Thomas Barany, a teacher in the West Bend School District charged with repeated sexual assault of a child was set to be sentenced Tuesday afternoon, July 3rd.​

Thomas M. Barany of Cedarburg was sentenced Tuesday to 10 years in prison for repeated sexual assault of a child 14 years ago, Ozaukee County District Attorney Adam Gerol said. Barany, 52, pleaded guilty to the felony in May. The victim was a 7-year-old girl at the time the assaults occurred in Cedarburg in 1998. He was arrested in December 2011 and confessed to the crime, admitting to police that he touched the girl indecently on more than one occasion.​
