The ‘sex-crazed’ teacher’s lurid school dance outfits

He dressed like this — and no one said anything? Brooklyn Tech teacher and alleged sex predator Sean Shaynak attended the school’s senior Masquerade Ball in the fall of 2012 dressed as Britney Spears in her “Hit Me Baby One More Time” Catholic-schoolgirl getup. He wore pigtails, a wig, falsies, a tied white shirt baring his midriff, and a tiny plaid miniskirt, very low-slung.

A chaperone for the 2009 ball, he was voted “most unique” — dressed as a French maid in a short dress — and reportedly “flashed his rear end.” “Someone should have told him he was crossing the line,” a colleague said, noting Principal Randy Asher was at the dance.

But no one did, until Shaynak, 44, was busted on Aug. 26 for allegedly sending a 16-year-old student a picture of his penis.

Probe: Accused NYC teacher's hiring not in error

Investigators say the New York City Department of Education was not in error when it hired a teacher who has since been charged with sex abuse ... After Shaynak was arrested in August, questions were raised about a 2005 arrest in Maryland over an altercation with an 11-year-old neighbor. A report released Thursday by the special commissioner of investigation for New York City schools says the earlier arrest did not disqualify Shaynak from being hired because he was not convicted.

DOE Glossed Over Warning Signs About Teacher Accused of Sex Scandal

The Special Commissioner of Investigation, which investigates alleged acts of corruption and other criminal activity, recently looked into Shaynak's hiring and found that a background check made during his screening process showed he was arrested in Maryland in 2005 for assault. Shaynak told the DOE interviewer that he was arrested following an altercation with a "young teen male." But he did not disclose the boy's age — 11-years-old — and the investigator did not ask, according to the report. Shaynak told the investigator that a teen threw an object at his house and while he was escorting him back to his parents an altercation took place "where he and the teen were injured," the report says.

He was not technically convicted of a crime, which would have raised a flag during a background check and may have barred him from working with the DOE. Maryland law allowed a guilty plea to not be entered if Shaynak paid the boy's medical bills, court bills, and did community service.

The investigator explained that she approved Shaynak’s paperwork because he had no other arrests and had met the terms of his 2005 arrest, the report noted. So she approved Shaynak to be hired as a Teaching Fellow at Landmark High School in Manhattan.

Probe: DOE Was Not In Error When Hiring Brooklyn Tech Teacher Now Charged With Sex Abuse

A report released Thursday by the special commissioner of investigation for New York City schools says the earlier arrest did not disqualify Shaynak from being hired because he was not convicted. According to the report, Shaynak appeared in court in October 2005 and agreed to “dispose” of the case via Probation Before Judgment. Shaynak reportedly was ordered to pay for the young boy’s medical bills, along with court costs, as well as do 16 hours of community service.

“Because the guilty judgment is not entered, a PBJ (Probation Before Judgment) does not count as a conviction of a crime and the defendant does not have a criminal record. For the purpose of a job application, the former defendant can truthfully answer that he has not been convicted of a crime,” the report reads.

Internal Report: DOE Not Faulted in Alleged Sex-Abuser’s Hiring

The prosecution of a Brooklyn Tech High School Teacher, arrested in September for allegedly sexually abusing several of his students, one of whom was 13 years old, proceeded last week. During a brief court appearance Nov. 25, Sean Shaynak stood handcuffed wearing a grey sweater and pinstriped pants. Mr. Shaynak, 44, was arrested Sept. 30 and charged with committing a string of crimes from 2011 through 2014, which include allegedly taking a 15-year-old student to a nude beach, forcibly performing a sex act on an 18-year-old, having sex with two students and inappropriately touching a minor. He was also arrested ...

EXCLUSIVE: Girl who exposed former Brooklyn teacher Sean Shaynak’s alleged perv behavior seeks damages

The first girl to expose former Brooklyn teacher Sean Shaynak as an alleged sex-crazed maniac became the first to seek damages from the city Thursday. The unnamed Brooklyn Technical High School student announced her intention to sue the Department of Education for allowing the ex-math teacher to manipulate her into playing hooky and consume alcohol and drugs, according to court papers. The inappropriate student-teacher relationship reached its peak June 26, when Shaynak sent her a crotch shot over the image sharing app Snapchat, the document said, leading her to tell her parents who called the cops.

Her lawyer, Jeffrey Herman, said he expects to bring similar claims on behalf of at least two other victims and argued that the teacher, who would openly smoke with students and let some cut class, should have been stopped long ago.

Brooklyn Tech Knew About Inappropriate Behavior Involving Teacher Accused of Sex Crimes: Suit

A Brooklyn high school knew that a 44-year-old teacher accused of sexually preying on students had been arrested on assault charges before he was hired by the school and that he acted inappropriately around students while he worked there, according to a lawsuit filed by one of the teacher's alleged victims. The suit against the city Department of Education, filed by attorney Jeff Herman on behalf of a student identified as "V.V.," alleges that administrators at Brooklyn Technical High School knew that teacher Sean Shaynak had been arrested on assault and battery charges on a minor before he was hired to teach at the school in 2009 and that he harassed and acted inappropriately while around students during his tenure.

Brooklyn Tech Student Sues City Over Creepy, Cross-dressing Teacher

Sean Shaynak, the math and physics teacher at Brooklyn Tech High School who was charged in August for a host of sex crimes against students, is now the subject of a new lawsuit launched against the city by another former student.

Filed by an of-age female student against the Department of Education on Saturday, the lawsuit alleges that Brooklyn Tech principal Randy Asher and various other administrators knew that Shaynak was a total creep, but refused to do anything about it. The student, known only as "V.V.," claims she had a sexual relationship with Shaynak that began when he ripped open his overcoat to expose himself to her. Shaynak then began sending sexually explicit text messages to her and asking whether they could become "boyfriend and girlfriend," according to the Post. He also took her to "X-rated joints where he had V.V. watch him 'perform and receive oral sex with other males.'"

During one especially harrowing night, the student alleges Shaynak was driving her to a Halloween party when they began arguing about their relationship. He began screaming and driving erratically, causing V.V. to fear for her life. When he pulled over the car to urinate, she slipped out of it and escaped, crawling through some bushes as he searched for her and screamed about how she was a bitch.
