10-year-old daughter of Cook Co. corrections officer brings loaded gun to Richton Park school

Richton Park police said a 10-year-old girl has been taken into custody after a loaded gun was found at a school Wednesday. Police said they responded to Neil Armstrong Elementary School Wednesday morning after the principal called 911. The fourth grader allegedly shows the fully loaded semiautomatic handgun to other children , who then told the teacher 8:30 a.m. The teacher then confronted the student in a hallway full of kids, wrestling the weapon away from the girl.
