A relative of Cobos had confronted him with the allegations and he had asked for two days to turn himself into police. However, the woman reported the sexual assault.Police interviewed the victim in the case, who disclosed that Cobos had begun assaulting her in 2009 and the last incident had occurred in August 2012. She told police he had performed sexual acts when she would visit and stay at his Gering home. She alleged sexual abuse had also happened during trips to Rapid City, S.D., and Broadwater. The girl had become upset on Aug. 29 and confided the molestation to another friend of the family and the girl’s mother was made aware of the abuse. The girl’s mother contacted a female relative who confronted Cobos and allegedly acknowledged the abuse had occurred. Tags:
