He turned himself into the Campbell County jail on Monday and was released on a $10,000 bond. Vann was teaching at LaFollette Middle School in October 2013 when investigators learned that left campus with the 13-year-old female student. He took her to a church five miles away, where investigators said Vann hugged the teen and attempted to kiss her without consent. Campbell County Middle School Teacher Charged With Inappropriate Contact With Student At the request of 8th District Attorney General Lori Phillips-Jones, TBI Special Agents, along with the Campbell County Sheriff’s Department, began investigating Lonnie Vann last Nov. 4. During the course of the investigation, agents said they developed information that on Oct. 22, 2013, while working as a teacher at LaFollette Middle School, Vann took a 13-year-old student off school property to Coolidge First Baptist Church. While in the church building, Vann hugged the juvenile and attempted to kiss her, both without consent, it was charged. Investigators further developed information that Vann tampered with evidence in the case by altering images on a recording device at the church, agents said. Former Campbell County teacher wanted on robbery charges arrested in South Carolina An East Tennessee man on the TBI's Most Wanted list has been captured in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Lonnie Vann was wanted out of Campbell County in connection with a home invasion that happened the Deerfield community of LaFollette on December 5. CBS affiliate WVLT reports Lonnie Lee Vann of Jacksboro appeared in court Monday to answer charges in the death of Rhonda Daugherty of Campbell County, who disappeared from her home on Dec. 2 and remains missing.
