    Wright was arrested earlier this week after a three-month old child in his care, showed up at a local hospital with a severe head injury and trauma to the face. The child is now listed in serious, but stable condition.

    • Just 6 days before he was arrested Lawrence Wright was in jail charged with incest ... And according to Shreveport Police a warrant for his arrest was issued in October for one count of incest. Wright turned himself in on that charge last week.
    • A further look into his past we found a 2001 charge of loud music.
    • In 2007 he was charged with disturbing the peace and resisting arrest.

    A Shreveport man is behind bars after police say he caused serious injury to a 3-month-old baby. Lawrence Wright, 31, of the 9000 block of Walker Road, was arrested today on a charge of second degree cruelty to a juvenile. Shreveport police juvenile detectives were called to a local hospital after the baby arrived with a severe head injury. Reports said the child had bleeding in the brain and trauma to the face. The baby, now in serious but stable condition, is expected to recover from the injury.

    Shreveport Police were called around 11 Monday night, after the child arrived in the pediatric emergency room suffering from what was described as a severe head injury. Officers arrived and spoke to 31-year-old Lawrence Wright, who was there at the hospital with the child. Official from the Louisiana Department of Social Services and Shreveport detectives working together on the investigation allegedly uncovered information linking Wright to the injuries suffered by the infant. Wright was interviewed and taken into custody, charged with second degree cruelty to a juvenile.

    On Monday, at 11:00 p.m., detectives arrested Lawrence Wright, 31, of Shreveport, for hurting a baby that was left in his care, according to the Shreveport Police Department. Officers were first alerted to the incident when a hospital employees informed police that a child had arrived in the pediatric emergency room with a major head injury. Officials from the Louisiana Department of Social Services worked alongside Shreveport detectives in an investigation that ultimately linked Wright to the baby's injuries. Following interviews, Wright was arrested and charged with cruelty to a juvenile.
