Ex-Murrieta Valley High cheer coach sues after firing, alleging anti-LGBTQ discrimination A former Murrieta Valley High School cheer coach has sued the Murrieta school district, alleging anti-LGBTQ discrimination. After three years on the job, Michael Henderson was fired in June, his lawsuit alleges. Team members took to the streets in protest. On Wednesday, Sept. 22, Henderson sued the Murrieta Valley Unified School District in Riverside Superior Court. The suit’s allegations include discrimination based on sexual orientation, a failure to create an environment free from harassment and emotional distress.
