    Texas educators accused of inappropriate relationships with minors

    A student-teacher educational relationship can be invaluable to students, who often find mentors in those they trust. But when a teacher or educator violates that trust, the effects may be disastrous for all involved and may lead to criminal charges. Investigations into improper teacher-student relationships have increased dramatically in recent years, per data by the Texas Education Agency. In 2016-2017, the agency opened 302 investigations into improper relationships. During the 2018 to 2019 fiscal year, TEA tracked 442 inappropriate relationships. In 2017, Gov.
