Two Tipton County correctional officers were arrested on drug charges

The Tipton County Sheriff's Office announced Saturday morning two of its correctional officers have been arrested on separate drug charges. Amanda Jones, 37, was arrested Friday after narcotics officers saw her buying Schedule II narcotics. She was not on duty at the time of her arrest. "There is currently no evidence to indicate (she) participated in any illegal activity while serving on the job," Sheriff Pancho Chumley said. The investigation also led to the arrest of Taras Baker, 25, for simple possession of marijuana. Both were terminated immediately. Jones remains in custody without bond pending further investigation.
