    Suit: Disabled boy arrested, put in ‘straight jacket chair’

    A Hendersonville mother says her 8-year-old developmentally disabled son was treated more like a criminal than a special-needs child when he struck a teacher’s aide last February. Brittany Granito is suing the Sumner County Board of Education and the Sumner County Sheriff’s Office for an incident that occurred Feb. 6, 2014, in which she says her son was arrested at his school, placed in a juvenile detention center cell, and restrained in a chair by belts and straps that caused severe bruising.
