Valley Central (10 Nov 2011): Former Roma football coach accused of sexually abusing two teens

Valley Central said:

Investigator told Action 4 News that two male victims have come forward: one 16 years old one 17 years old. The 16-year-old victim reported the sexual abuse back in July. The second victim came forward in October.

KRGV (10 Nov 2011): Former Roma Coach Out on Bond

KRGV said:

Fernandez was an assistant football coach when the first allegation of sexual assault was made in July. Police say they did not have enough evidence to charge him at that time, but he wasn't allowed to coach anymore. He was allowed to teach when the school year started. Fernandez allegedly assaulted another male student a month into the school year. The school district suspended him in October after hearing those allegations. He resigned a day later.
