Bloomfield native and teacher indicted in sex case

Originally from Bloomfield, Nicole DuFault, the 35-year-old Maplewood school teacher charged last year in the sexual assault of half a dozen of her former students, has been indicted, according to the Acting Essex County Prosecutor. An Essex County grand jury handed the Caldwell resident 40 counts of aggravated sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a child for engaging in sex acts with six male victims. The indictment accuses DuFault of engaging in sexual activity with all six boys on multiple occasions between 2013 and 2014, according to Assistant Prosecutor Gina Iosim, who is handling the case. Some of the sex acts occurred on school property and in her car.​
