Bergen County Prosecutor John L. Molinelli announced the arrest of MICHAEL BORIS (DOB:05/30/81) of 12 St. Joseph Blvd, Apt. 17, Lodi, N.J., New Jersey on Aggravated Criminal Sexual Contact and Endangering the Welfare of a Child charges. The arrest came about as a result of an investigation conducted by members of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Sex Crimes and Child Abuse Unit, under the direction of Chief Steven Cucciniello and the Bogota Police Department, under the direction of Chief John Burke.​

On November 23, 2011, members of the Bogota Police Department and the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Sex Crimes and Child Abuse Unit arrested MICHAEL BORIS after learning that he engaged in inappropriate sexual conduct with two (2) present Bogota High School students and one (1) former Bogota High School student. Michael Boris has been employed at the Bogota High School for approximately seven (7) years and worked in the following capacities: assistant coach for the cross-country team, assistant coach of Spring Track and Field team, assistant band director, assistant stage crew director and assistant drama club director.​

This investigation initiated on November 16, 2011 after the Bogota High School learned of the possible inappropriate conduct of MICHAEL BORIS and immediately contacted law enforcement authorities. Michael Boris was also suspended by the Bogota High School at the onset of this investigation.​

Michael Boris is alleged to have engaged in inappropriate sexual conversations with the students via the Internet regarding the students’ private parts and furthermore, had inappropriate sexual contact in person with one of the students. The alleged incidents occurred over different time frames with each separate student beginning in 2007 and continued through the present school year.​

MICHAEL BORIS was charged with the following: three (3) counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child -2nd degree crime and two (2) counts of Aggravated Criminal Sexual Contact – 3rd degree crime.​

Bail was set by Judge Donald Venezia, J.S.C. for Boris at $150,000.00 dollars-no 10% option, no contact with any of the victims, no contact with any Bogota High School students and surrender Passport, after which, Boris was remanded to the Bergen County Jail in lieu of bail.​

Prosecutor Molinelli states that the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
