Tenessean: Centennial High teacher resigns after investigation starts into social media use (Feb 18 2013)

Details are scant surrounding the resignation of Centennial High School Spanish teacher Marcos Flores. However, Williamson County Schools’ officials say the teacher was suspended without pay pending an internal investigation Feb. 8. Flores resigned Feb. 15. School officials say they were notified that the Franklin Police Department was investigating Flores, and conducted their own review, said Carol Birdsong, a spokeswoman for the district. She said that questions centered on the improper use of social media and communication. No charges have been filed against Flores at this time, although an investigation is ongoing, said Lt. Charles Warner, a Franklin Police spokesman.
