Lynn R. Lundstrom, 62, of Ivins, was arrested following an investigation by the Hurricane Police Department. Four students reported being touched inappropriately by Lundstrom during class, according to the probable cause statement, including one student who told investigators she was touched while practicing a violin solo. The complaints were initially brought to Hurricane Police near the end of September. Other complaints against Lundstrom were brought forward in the ensuing days, according to the probable cause statement. Tags:

Teacher pleads not guilty to child sex abuse A former Hurricane charter school music teacher accused of groping some of his students pleaded not guilty to four felony charges Tuesday and asked for a trial. Lynn Richard Lundstrom, 64, is charged with four first-degree felony counts of aggravated sexual abuse of a child, which could potentially lead to a sentence of up to life in prison and a minimum of five years if he is found guilty. Lundstrom was teaching violin classes at the newly opened Valley Academy Charter School two years ago when 10-year-old girl and boy students complained that Lundstrom was grabbing them on the buttocks and upper thigh, and that he became forceful when some of them tried to pull away. Lundstrom allegedly denied touching the children inappropriately but then told a Hurricane Police investigator that "his cheerleading had gone too far" and had "crossed the line," according to a report filed with 5th District Court.
