A group of students notified school officials March 1 that “something was not right” between Ramos and the student, who turned 18 about two weeks later, according to an arrest warrant affidavit. There was a rumor that Ramos and the girl were dating, the students said. Another student told the girl's mother in December that the girl had been spotted downtown with a man who resembled an Edison teacher. Ramos said in a statement that he was with his mother making tamales that night and that he returned to his apartment afterward. The girl said she was at Edison's Christmas band concert. On Monday, the girl and her mother told SAISD police that she and Ramos had been in a and began having consensual sex in December, the affidavit states.
