But on Friday, [Joshua Covert] was arraigned and is now facing charges after police say he had sexual relations with a student ... Police said he was involved in a relationship with a female student from that school district. The relationship started at the end of last school year and continued throughout the summer, they said. Police said Covert used intellect and played with the girl's emotions to gain her trust before having sex with her at several different locations in both Cambria and Somerset counties, including at his home and inside his car.

According to an affidavit of probable cause, Covert “used intellect, morals, emotional and psychological compulsion to gain the trust of the victim and compelled her to become emotionally attached to him to have sexual intercourse.”
