The sex crimes prosecution of a Des Moines teacher and basketball coach that was dismissed earlier this year was the result of a reckless, shoddy investigation, according to a lawsuit filed Friday. The lawsuit filed on behalf of Gerald "Tig" Johnson faults a Des Moines police detective and school resource officer for mismanaging and losing crucial evidence, including surveillance video and text messages. New details are emerging about a lawsuit against Des Moines Public Schools and the Des Moines Police Department.
