Database to list teachers who commit obscene acts, violence The education ministry will create a database containing information about problematic teachers in a bid to prevent sexual predators and violent instructors from returning to classrooms. The ministry earmarked about 480 million yen (about $4.3 million) for the system in its budget request for fiscal 2018, following the arrests of offending teachers who slipped back into the school system. Boards of education and private schools can use the database for background checks on those applying for teaching jobs.
