    A Granger High School teacher was arrested Tuesday for allegedly having a sexual relationship with a 17-year-old student nearly 10 years ago, when she taught at Northridge High. Chaarie Jaramillo, 35, was arrested by Layton police for investigation of three counts of rape and three counts of forcible sexual abuse ... The victim allegedly had sexual relations with the teacher from 2003 to 2004. [Layton Police Lt. Shawn] Horton said he did not know why the relationship ended. He said the victim was a student at Northridge when Jaramillo was a teacher. The illegal activity was believed to have happened at a couple of locations, including in Clinton and Layton, Horton said.

Chaarie Jaramillo is charged with multiple felonies, for allegedly having sex with a 17-year-old student a decade ago, according to S Walton of the Layton Police Department as recorded in a probable cause statement ... Authorities said Jaramillo, 35, had a sexual relationship with a 17-year-old male student between 2002-2003. The Layton Police Dept. first learned of the allegations in Feb. 2012, but did not make the arrest until Tuesday.

    Officers arrested Chaarie Lynne Jaramillo, 35, Tuesday on suspicion of three counts of rape and three counts of forcible sex abuse. Police learned in February 2012 about a possible relationship between Jaramillo and a 17-year-old male student at Northridge High School from 2003 to 2004, that allegedly lasted more than a year, according to a news release from Layton police.

    Standard Examiner: Teacher charged in Layton with having sex with student (Jan 23 2013)

    Chaarie Lynn Jaramillo, 35, was arrested Tuesday by Layton police and booked in the Davis County Jail on three counts of first-degree felony rape and two counts of second-degree felony forcible sex abuse of a 17- year-old. She is being held in lieu of a $30,000 bail. Layton Police Lt. Shawn Horton said police received information in February of 2012 that Jaramillo had a sexual relationship with a male student at Northridge High School from 2003 to 2004.

    Statute of limitations expired:
    A judge is being asked to expunge the arrest record of a former Northridge High School social studies teacher who was accused of but never charged with having an illegal sexual relationship with one of her students 10 years ago.
    Defense attorney Ed Brass filed the motion with 2nd District Court for Chaarie Lynn Jaramillo, 36. Arguments will be heard at 9 a.m. Oct. 16 before Judge Robert Dale. No formal charges have been filed against Jaramillo, according to the court website.

    “Criminal charges for rape and forcible sodomy were not filed because the statute of limitations had expired,” according to the document. “To the contrary, there was sufficient evidence to file criminal charges.”
