In the Brisbane District Court, former primary school teacher Caleb Joel Lloyd avoided immediate jail despite using the internet to download child pornography featuring girls as young as three over a seven-month period ... The Brisbane District Court was told Lloyd was aged 23 and still working as a teacher when police raided his home and seized his laptop computer containing 164 images or videos of offensive child exploitation material more than two years ago. The court was told Lloyd was arrested after revealing his actions to a female associate, with Lloyd later reported to have said it was a "relief to get his private secrets out in the open". Lloyd, now 26, was jailed for 18 months, to be released immediately on a $200 good behaviour bond, after pleading guilty to using a carriage service to access child exploitation material between December 16, 2008, and July 25, 2009. Lloyd received an additional wholly suspended 12-month jail term after pleading guilty to a Queensland criminal offence of possessing child exploitation material on July 24, 2009.
