Fox 8: I-Team: Women May Have Been Pregnant Multiple Times (May 7 2013)

Law enforcement sources say they are investigating allegations that three missing women found alive Monday in a Seymour Avenue home may have been pregnant multiple times. It is unclear if more than one child had been born. The sources also say that the victims, Amanda Berry, Gina DeJesus and Michelle Knight, all appear to be malnourished, and that Knight may have suffered hearing loss. She has reportedly told police she was hit in the head. She may also have structural damage to her face.

Fox 8: I-Team: Who is Kidnapping Suspect, Ariel Castro? (May 7 2013)

Ariel Castro is being held in connection with the kidnapping of Gina DeJesus, Amanda Berry and Michelle Knight. The 52-year-old is a father of grown children with a passion for playing the bass guitar. But, records on file with Cleveland schools indicate Ariel Castro had a pattern of using bad judgement and that’s why he lost his job as a bus driver in Nov. 2012.

    ...

There did appear to be a problem at the home almost 20 years ago: Castro’s wife at the time, Grimilda Figueroa, accused him of domestic violence. Documents on file with the Cuyahoga County Clerk of Courts show Ariel Castro was indicted; but the case was not billed, meaning he never faced the charges in a court of law.

Fox 8: Neighbors Ask Why Women Weren’t Found Sooner (May 7 2013)

From celebrations to investigations, a number of neighbors are wondering why it took law enforcement so long to rescue Amanda Berry, Gina DeJesus, Michelle Knight and a child at a Cleveland home. One young lady, who didn’t want to be identified, told Fox 8 News that a number of neighbors have called the police about the house several times over the last few years. “It didn’t look right, and it didn’t feel right,” she said. ”It was boarded up, taped and stuff. It’s not normal when it’s 90 degrees out.”

    ...

The young lady told us there were also unusual sightings and sounds. She said people who live behind the home, across the street and down the street all called the police about different incidents. “We ‘seen’ a naked lady in the backyard,” she said. “And we said something to her, and he told her to get down and we said something to him, and he told her to get in the house, and he ran behind the cars.” She said they reported it Cleveland police but that they didn’t believe her.

It will be interesting to see what becomes of this last allegation.

Fox 8: FBI Investigates; Charging Period Extended in Case (May 7 2013)

As crime scene investigators continue to look for evidence at Ariel Castro’s house at 2207 Seymour Avenue, a judge has extended the charging period in the case.
Two search warrants were issued at the home where three missing women were discovered Monday. Amanda Berry, Gina DeJesus and Michelle Knight, who had all been missing for years, were found alive. FOX 8′s Bill Sheil said one of the search warrants had to do with looking for evidence of “bodily fluids related to births.”

    ...

“Three years ago, one neighbor who lived in the towers (overlooking the backyard), called police and reported seeing naked women tied to a leash,” said Hector Lugo. “We want to know what was going on inside that house!”
