    A former physical ed teacher in Spalding County faces charges of abusing a 14-year-old female student. The Spalding County Sheriff's Office arrested 36-year-old Daniel Edward Keeley of Griffin. Keeley used to work at St. George's Episcopal School in Milner.

    The Spalding County Sheriff’s Office arrested Daniel Edward Keeley, 36, of 101 Four Oaks Drive, Griffin, on Monday on charges of enticing a child for indecent purposes, child molestation, sexual battery and sexual assault. Sheriff Wendell Beam said the charges were brought against Keeley as a result of an ongoing investigation that involved a 14-year-old female student at the school.

    A former physical education teacher has been arrested for various crimes involving a 14-year-old girl, according to the Spalding County Sheriff’s Office. Daniel Edward Keeley, 36, of Griffin, was charged with enticing a child for indecent purposes, child molestation, sexual battery and sexual assault and booked into the Spalding County jail, Capt. Tony Ranieri said Wednesday. The arrest came during an ongoing investigation into Keeley’s involvement with a 14-year-old.     DANIEL EDWARD KEELEY, AGE 36 WHEN HE WAS ARRESTED IN MARCH 2013, WAS SENTENCED TO 12 YEARS PROBATION BY JUDGE TOMMY HANKINSON WITH THE FIRST YEAR TO BE SERVED UNDER HOME CONFINEMENT.

    KEELEY IS TO HAVE NO UNSUPERVISED CONTACT WITH CHILDREN UNDER THE AGE OF 18 AND NO CONTACT WITH THE VICTIM, AND THE SENTENCE INCLUDES 100 HOURS OF COMMUNITY SERVICE.

    JUDGE HANKINSON GRANTED FIRST OFFENSE STATUS.

    ACCORDING TO ASSISTANT DISTRICT ATTORNEY MARIE GREEN BRODER ,KEELEY ENTERED A GUILTY PLEA TO TWO COUNTS OF FIRST -DEGREE CRUELTY TO CHILDREN. THE MAXIMUM SENTENCE ON EACH IS 20 YEARS IN PRISON, AND IF HE VIOLATES THE TERMS OF PROBATION HE WOULD BE SUBJECT TO THE FULL 40 YEARS IN PRISON.

    AT THE TIME OF HIS ARREST KEELEY WAS DEAN OF STUDENTS, ATHLETIC DIRECTOR AND PHYS ED TEACHER AT ST. GEORGE'S SCHOOL.

    The "article" you posted is a blog that is filled with inaccuracies. If you are posting blogs as news, that is terrible journalism. The facts you have posted are all wrong. The charges against this man were all dropped. He did not have any home confinement (anyone who knows this can verify that from all of his Facebook pictures and status updates), and he has a clean record with no convictions. Those are the facts!
